Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)
½ cup powdered sugar for rolling
Gel food coloring
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl
3. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and almond extract
5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture
6. Divide dough and mix in gel food coloring
7. Chill dough for 30 minutes
8. Roll dough into balls and coat in powdered sugar
9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until cracked and set
